Rail Baltica: Ministers Meet in Riga

Ministers from the Baltic States met in Riga, Latvia, on 20th October, to discuss the Rail Baltica Project.
On 20th October a meeting of the Ministers from the Baltic States took place with the participation of Latvia’s Minister of Transport Kaspars Briškens, Estonia’s Minister of Climate, Kristen Michal, and Lithuania’s Minister of Transport and Communications, Marius Skuodis.
During the meeting, among other topics, discussions on various topics related to the effective advancement of theRail Balticaproject, reaching a common vision on European Union transport issues, including revisions of the TEN-T regulation and the multiannual financial framework were held.
“Rail Balticais not just a project of Estonia, Latvia, or Lithuania – it is a Baltic-wide project. It is a vision of a unified backbone for Baltic and European connectivity, an economic development corridor, and a pillar of security,” emphasised the Minister of Transport of Latvia,Kaspars Briškens.“That’s why I have invited Estonia’s Climate and Lithuania’s Transport and Communications Ministers to meet in Riga to discuss the project’s further development.”
“The Baltic States must show Europe that we can implement projects of this calibre, and we will do so by working together in the interest of the Baltic and European goals,”Briškens补充道。
Additionally, the ministers discussed coordinated preparation for the operational phase of theRail Balticaproject.
